Vintage: Non Vintage
Type: Champagne
Country: France – Reims

When I got the chance to taste this champagne I was a little skeptically. Any Champagne that attracts a price tag that Armand De Brignac does must be all hype… In fact the wine was excellent. For a Non-Vintage blend it was refreshing and tasted wonderful. Nice crisp finish that I expect from a Brut. I would drink this again, though I doubt I’ll be buying any anytime soon; it’s just too expensive.

Vintage: 2007
Type: Tempranillo
Country: Spain

What can I say, revisiting this wine with a new vintage was a pleasure. Still strong aromas of berry and oak on the nose and excellent finish on the palette. Highly recommended, again.

Vintage: 2003
Type: Tempranillo
Country: Spain

This wine graced our table at a gastro pub in Ballam. This Grand Reserva did not disappoint. Good leathery oak and berries on the nose and a great taste of cherry and oak, tempered with the age of the wine. Recommended.

Vintage: Non-Vintage
Type: Ratafia – Dessert wine
Country: France – Vertus

Ratafia is an interesting dessert wine. It is made with the left-over champagne grapes and brandy. I enjoyed it served cold and it is an excellent accompaniment to a slightly tart dessert (like a lemon tort).
